Visiting Scholars Program

The Center for Integrative Synthetic Biology (CISB) invites applications for Visiting Scholars from the US. The objective is to identify and attract scientists with innovative ideas who desire to pursue research in frontier areas of systems and synthetic biology including but not limited to nanoscience & technology, cellular-molecular & disease research under the mentorship of senior PIs at the CISB.

Scholars may undertake a variety of activities, including: presenting seminars, conducting research or workshops, providing methodological and analytical expertise, writing collaborative papers/project, and supervising students. The minimum stay is two weeks with a maximum of two months depending on the nature of the collaboration.  Applicants from under-represented institutions and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Interested scholars should submit the following materials in a single PDF file to Shiva Kalinga (kss@mit.edu):

  • One page planned research project with interests and experience
  • The proposed dates for a visit
  • A current curriculum vitae including list of publications
  • Letter of recommendation

Applications are received year round.
