Dr. Shiva Kalinga is managing director for the MIT center for integrative synthetic biology at MIT synthetic biology center. Dr. Kalinga focuses on research management and administration at the center. He works closely with staff and faculty in implementing technology driven systems and synthetic biology projects for a variety of health-related applications. Dr. Kalinga has extensive experience in research-regulations, management and administration and science policy. Dr. Kalinga holds a BS and MS in Microbiology from BU, Bangalore and PhD in Biochemistry from ETH Zurich. He was a Merck-MIT postdoctoral fellow at MIT Dept. of Bioengineering and also holds an eMBA from Bentley University.

Olga manages the facilities at Technology Square and supports the laboratory personnel with purchasing, accounting procedures, Institute procedures, coordinates events for the Synthetic Biology Center and plays a key role in the daily operations. She was awarded the Infinite Mile Award for Sustained Excellence, MIT School of Engineering in 2001. At MIT, she has served as co-convenor of the Working Group for Support Staff Issues twice and has actively participated on many Institute Committees.
